Lost your earbuds’ charging case? How a replacement works
A replacement case works with your existing buds — here is what to check, and the contact-cleaning fix first.

A replacement case pairs to your existing buds — you do not need to replace the whole set. The case holds the pairing, so after a reset the buds adopt it.
Before buying: if the case charges but neither bud does, the fault is often the case contacts, not the case. Cleaning those costs nothing and fixes it more often than people expect.
What you’ll need
- Replacement charging case for your exact model
- Isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud
Step by step
- 1
Clean the contacts first
Isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud, on both the pins inside the case and the pads on the buds. Let it dry fully before seating them.
- 2
Confirm the exact model
Check the code printed inside the case lid or on the bud stem. Manufacturers reuse product names across generations with different internals.
- 3
Charge the new case fully
Before pairing anything, charge it. A part-charged case gives misleading pairing behaviour.
- 4
Reset with both buds seated
Seat both buds, open the lid, hold the case button 10–15 seconds until the LED changes.
- 5
Re-pair to the phone
Forget the old entry in Bluetooth settings, then pair fresh.
Common questions
- Will a replacement case work with my existing buds?
- Yes, provided it is the same model. The case carries the pairing, so after a reset your buds adopt the new case.
- My case charges but the buds do not. Is the case faulty?
- Often not. Dirty contacts are the usual cause — clean both the case pins and the bud pads with isopropyl alcohol before replacing anything.
